Hero Dog Saves Baby Boy After Finding Him Buried Alive By Teenage Mother

Ping Pong, a 6-year-old disabled dog, was hailed as a hero for rescuing a buried boy living in a field by his teenage mother. This incident occurred Wednesday morning (May 15) in a village in northeastern Thailand.

According to The Guardian, the dog, which has only three legs that run after being hit by a car, was seen sniffing and digging near a field in Ban Nong Kham village, Cham Phuang District, in Bangkok. The dog also started barking and this caught the attention of nearby farmers.

Thanks to the Ping Pong searches that exposed the infant's legs, the peasants noticed the tiny legs protruding from the ground and immediately drove the newborn to the hospital.

Once there, the doctors cleaned him up and declared him healthy, the BBC reported. USA Nisaikha, the 41-year-old owner of Ping Pong, said his dog was a very good boy and had been raising Ping Pong since he was born. Despite his disability, he still chose to keep the dog. He told local media:

"The dog dug a pile of dirt and the baby's legs emerged."

"Ping Pong was hit by a car, so he's disabled. But I kept him because he was so loyal and obedient and always helps me when I go to the fields to look after my livestock. He is loved by the whole village. It's amazing that he found the baby, "he added.

As for the teenage mother who abandoned her newborn, it was discovered that she was only 15 years old. She confessed to having buried her baby boy because she was trying to hide her pregnancy and feared her father's retaliation if he found out she was carrying a child.

The teenager, who regrets her actions, has since been charged with attempted murder and child abandonment. That being said, her family agreed to raise the baby. A police officer reportedly said:

"The girl is now in the care of a psychologist and her parents because she is very worried. She regrets what she did and said she acted impulsively without thinking. She feared her parents would discover she was pregnant. "
